The three horsewoman of on-court tennis lewks
So, what do Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and Marta Kostyuk all have in common? Yes, they’re all on the WTA tour. Yes they’re all powerhouses. Yes, it’s impossible not to enjoy watching all three of them play.
Unfortunately team, those weren’t the answers I was looking for though! Good try but let’s try again.
What’s that, you at the back? Speak louder. Oh, did you say: ‘Ella, all three have absolutely been serving with their fashion on the court this season. Arguably, they’re the best dressed’.
DING DING DING. Five points to you because you’re so bloody right.
This year Coco, Naomi and Marta have taken to clay and hard court surfaces in some of my favourite tennis looks, possibly ever. You know the ones that immediately make you punch phrases into Google like: ‘How much Coco Gauff tennis shoes’ and ‘Naomi Osaka tennis flower outfits’? The ones that make you contemplate emptying the bank just to hang them in your closet and never actually use them? Yeah, that’s where we’re at. I’m obsessed.
Not only do the tennis trio look unbelievable but they’ve also made me realise how severely lacking in the tennis outfit department I am. Granted I only play once a week and I’m pretty bad. But I deserve to look good!
Currently in my inventory I’ve got:
One black Gymshark tennis skort
One white Slazenger skort
A pair of Adidas tennis shoes. These are actually very nice.
and… actually yeah that’s it. No cool tennis dresses or even any performance tops. Cry.
So, watching Coco, Naomi and Marta on the court is definitely serving as some inspiration, and making me realise that if I want to play the part, I should probably look the part too.
Coco Gauff and New Balance are a match made in heaven
New Balance has been kitting out 21-year-old Coco since she was 14. According to their site, she’s one of two tennis athletes sponsored by the brand and the only female—so it makes sense that NB have the time to funnel their creativity so consistently to kit her out in killer looks.
In my opinion, the American has always looked good but she’s playing a whole different ball game this season.
In 2025, we’ve had day and night two-piece outfits at the Australian Open. In Rome, we had that Miu Miu collaboration that truly blew everything else out of the water and now at Roland Garros we’ve been treated to a marble-print custom dress designed specifically with success in mind.
I just want everything that Coco wears on the court. Especially her shoes! Is that too much to ask for?
Naomi Osaka’s flower-inspired looks have had me screaming
27-year-old Naomi switched from Adidas to Nike back in 2019 and the rest, as they, is history. Last year, we had the jaw-dropping bows at the US Open but 2025? I honestly believe she’s done one better with the flower-themed getups.
Each Grand Slam, the mother-of-one is centring her outfits around flowers. At the Australian Open, it was the sunflowers in her hair and on her shoes. I actually tried so hard to cop a pair of the tennis shoes she wore, but they weren’t available in England. I cried.
This month, Naomi stepped out on the French clay in a perfect pink ensemble inspired by the Japanese sakura. Her accessories were a callback to Sailor Moon (love that), and even though she only wore it once during that Paula Babosa defeat, the recipe is now ingrained in my brain forever.
I honestly cannot wait to see what Naomi and Nike pull out of the bag for the final two Grand Slam’s of the WTA season: Wimbledon and the US Open. What I will say though is that I need her to go further than the first round so I can be fed.
Marta Kostyuk: undisputed queen of the tennis dress
It might be a bold statement to make, but I truly believe nobody on the WTA tour is doing the tennis dress better than Marta.
Wilson has been designing some absolute beauties for the 22-year-old this season, including the orange number at the Australian Open, the dreamy ombre dress she debuted at Indian Wells and that stunning grey number she played in at Roland Garros.
Last year, the Ukrainian worked with Wilson to build a performance frock inspired by her actual wedding dress, which she wore to Wimbledon. Is it crazy for me to believe she’s going to top that this season? The grass awaits.
